To make the wings I found a top view of a mosquito, and made a plane that had the same shape. Then I copied the plane and mirrored it so that I got a plane turning up and one down. This becurse I am not sure a single plane will show the texture on both sides. The two planes are brought very close together and all the vertexes along the sides are velded.
Then I connect the wing to the back of the mosquito model and remember to add a few edges at the root of the wing for the animation.
