You’ve probably seen TheOnes post about the 3D HUD we’re developing for the mod, so here’s a progress update on it.

I’ve modelled the organ and started work on the skin, the next step is to rig and animate it. As far as I’m aware (correct me if I’m wrong), no other source project has developed a 3D HUD before, so it’s quite experimental and might take us a few goes to get it right.

The organ will represent health, armour and stamina. The different organ sections will deflate/inflate depending on the current status of the three mentioned elements.

The main middle bulge represents health
The smaller purple bulge represents armour
The top tentacle represents stamina

Yarrr, first post on this thing.

Lately uni work and uni life have been doing their best to keep me away from working on II, which is why you maybe haven’t seen me around IRC, on the forum or in-game much lately.

I have made some progress though, I’ve got a rough layout for my next map planned on paper. It’s based in a garden with some construction work going on. Next stage is to look through hordes of images for inspiration, so I can break the layout down into more detailed sections, so I’ll know exactly what I’m doing before I even open up hammer.

Hope to find some time to work on other elements of the mod soon, maybe work on the model for the 3D HUD we hope to implement into the mod, or work on the skins for future classes, whatever TheOne wants done really.
